[Exhibition and Discussion] #NoMeCansaré Politics and Aesthetics in Mexico 2012 - 2018

Updated: Dec 20, 2021

The second event in our Alternatives to Capitalism Series will be in the form of an exhibition and discussion by Dr Helena Chavez, the curator of the exhibition #NoMeCansaré. The exhibition is being hosted by the Society, Work and Politics Institute together with the Centro de Estudios Mexicanos and the Wits School of Arts.

#NoMeCansaré [I will not get tired] is an exhibition exploring art and social mobilisation that expresses and shapes present-day demands in Mexico where violence overwhelms and surpasses the government, giving rise to a shapeless and hard-to-define machine of war.

Date: 31 July 2019

Time: 6pm

Venue: Wits Fine Art postgrad project space, 7th Floor, University Corner (Wits University, entrance through the Wits Art Museum lifts)
