Eddie Webster honoured with lifetime achievement award

Congratulations to Prof Eddie Webster who has been awarded Isidanga by the South African Sociological Association (SASA). This is a lifetime achievement award, according to SASA 'In traditional communities amongst amaXhosa , isidanga was given to elders who were making a significant transition in their lives...Isidanga is a sign of respect because the one who wears it as been acknowledged the important work they have done for the people around them'.
