Apply for the position of Researcher / Assistant Researcher at SWOP (Full-time fixed term 24 month contract) SWOP, a dynamic research Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand, is seeking an energetic, empathetic and self-directed Researcher or Asst Researcher to conduct research on the impact of coal mining on rural communities, and resistance to it. The GLJ has just published its latest issue – a Special Issue on “Acquiring and Applying Power Resources”, guest edited by Carmen Ludwig, Stefan Schmalz and Edward Webster. Two of the three guest editors have links to SWOP: Carmen Ludwig is a research associate, and Edward Webster is emeritus professor and former director.
